SIC Grounds Laborer/FT (GE WILM)

Job Summary:

Southern Industrial Constructors seeks Grounds Laborer for an ongoing site in the Wilmington, NC area. This role is for an ongoing assignment. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3 months.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Building chain link fences on industrial site
• Industrial painting around the facility
• PCV pipe work in the plumbing department
• Assemble furniture for the site and other carpentry duties
• Bolt, nail, align, and block up under forms
• Level earth to fine grade specifications, using pick and shovel
• Mix concrete, using portable mixer
• Smooth and finish freshly poured cement or concrete, using float, trowel, or screed
• Mop, brush, or spread paints or bituminous compounds over surfaces for protection
• Spray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint, or stucco through hose to clean, coat, or seal surfaces
• Apply caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevices
• Grind, sand, or polish surfaces such as concrete or steel, using abrasive tools or machines
• Perform a variety of tasks involving dexterous use of hands and tools such as demolishing buildings, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing projections from concrete, mounting pipe hangers, and attaching insulating material
• Observe SIC/Client Safety processes and procedures at all times
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment
• Perform other duties as required

Physical and Job Site Requirements:

• Work in various environments including office, shop, traffic areas, freezers, and warehouses, with exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and weather
• Lift and carry items up to 50 pounds
• Move in confined spaces and uneven areas
• Respond to voice commands and alerts
• Use all required PPE effectively
• Perform strenuous physical activities and operate equipment safely
• Stand for long periods, bend, work on ladders and in awkward positions
