Job summary

Benchmark Electronics Inc. in Rochester, MN, is seeking an assembler for a full‑time manufacturing/production role. The position offers a safety‑sensitive environment with an hourly wage of 15.830–18.500 USD per hour.

You will verify kits, assemble subassemblies, perform hand solder and inspection, and document work in the Process Feedback System while supporting continuous improvement and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; 1+ years of experience in basic SI assembly.
  • Demonstrate good component recognition skills.
  • Understanding of basic computer skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Discretion, confidentiality and professionalism when representing the company.
  • Ability to support a 24/7 global business operation as required.
  • Ability to work overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Access the appropriate paperwork and necessary drawings for each job assignment.
  • Verify kits, enter batch lot information, package and label accessory items according to documented instructions.
  • Use appropriate mats and all required tooling.
  • Check equipment (torque wrenches, screwdrivers, etc.) to ensure proper performance.
  • Use manufacturing routings and process instructions under close supervision.
  • May assemble a variety of systems integration subassemblies.
  • Notify leadership of any shut down situations.
  • Enter data into Process Feedback System (PFS) and link subassemblies to final unit.
  • Enter quantities into Operations Complete (Baan) when required.
  • All employees are responsible for the quality of their work to ensure BEI meets, or exceeds Customer Satisfaction.
  • Mentor and assist lesser qualified operators.
  • Build subassemblies and add labels per manufacturing instructions and schematic drawings.
  • Perform systems integration specific hand solder and inspection operations per documented instructions.
  • Perform F‑cert function to ensure final units have passed through all necessary operations.
  • Perform final inspection of unit to ensure there are no visible defects or finger prints and wipe down unit as needed.
  • Add user manuals, accessory packs, cables, labels, etc. per documented instructions.
  • May assist manufacturing engineering in basic prototype and pre‑production builds.
  • Use manufacturing routings and process instructions under moderate supervision.
  • Mentor other co‑workers in assembly activities.
