Job summary

Imperial Beverage, a Michigan family-owned beverage distributor, seeks a CDL-A licensed driver to haul beer, wine and spirits between warehouses. This role is based in Ishpeming with routes to Livonia and Kalamazoo, and home daily after shifts.

You must be at least 19 years old with a clean driving record, able to lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 165 lbs, and willing to work 10 hours per day. Training and growth opportunities are provided.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• CDL-A license is required for the role.
• Must be 19 years of age or older.
• Reliable personal cell phone with ability to receive calls/texts.
• Customer service and attention to detail are essential.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds and move up to 165 pounds.
• Able to work physical and driving tasks in varying weather.
• Must have a good driving record.
• Must be able to work a minimum of 10 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspections at the warehouse in the evening.
• Verify loading accuracy and product loading on the truck.
• Drive to Livonia, MI warehouse and unload/load products on local delivery trucks.
• Load returns and empty containers for Kalamazoo warehouse.
• Occasionally deliver or pick up from customers or suppliers.
• Operate delivery vehicle safely per DOT rules.
• Return to Kalamazoo warehouse after deliveries.

The minimum compensation for this role is listed below; pay will be determined based on experience:

$27 - $31/hour

Eat. Sleep. Shuttle Beer. Repeat: Our drivers are home daily after hauling our beverages across Michigan to ensure each of our warehouses have the product they need for our customers. We take great pride in choosing drivers who drive safely, and are willing to jump in and help co-workers and suppliers when needed. This position requires a CDL-A, and will leave from our Ishpeming warehouse Monday-Thursday evenings (That's right... a 3-day weekend!) at 6:30pm with a return early in the morning.

A Day in the Life

• Arrive to the warehouse in the evening to perform your pre-trip inspection
• Verify accuracy and proper loading of product on your truck
• Drive your truck to our Livonia, MI warehouse
• Unload product from your truck and help load product on the local delivery trucks
• Load your truck with any returns and empty containers for the Kalamazoo warehouse
• Occasionally make a delivery or pickup from a customer or supplier
• Safely operate delivery vehicle according to DOT rules and regulations
• Return to the Kalamazoo warehouse after delivery has been made

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
• Current Commercial Driver's License- Class A CDL
• 19 years of age or older
• Must have a reliable personal cell phone with the ability to receive calls and text messages and with a cell phone number available internally

• Ability to lift, carry, push and pull an average of 50 pounds and move up to 165 pounds
• Ability to perform physical and driving tasks while being exposed to varying weather conditions
• Good driving record
