Job summary

VetPride Services is hiring a Shuttle Driver for the Dallas VA Medical Center. The role is full time in Dallas, TX with a Monday–Friday shift from 5:15am to 12:00pm, hourly rate $19.00. Benefits include PTO, sick leave, holidays, health/dental/vision, 401k, and retention bonuses.

The driver will greet riders, assist with mobility devices, operate the shuttle, and follow safety protocols while coordinating with the team to maintain an on-time schedule.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Background and DMV checks will be conducted.
• Pre-employment drug screen required.
• Strong customer service skills and calm, professional handling of conflicts.
• Consistent attendance and reliability required.
• Ability to understand, speak, and write basic English.
• Work independently and with others within guidelines.
• Technical capabilities and basic computer knowledge.
• Smartphone required to use Time & Attendance features.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers professionally on arrival and departure.
• Assist customers with wheelchairs or walkers getting in/out of shuttle.
• Safely operate shuttle to/from parking areas and stops.
• Follow all safety procedures and VA rules.
• Coordinate with other drivers to maintain schedule.
• Perform pre/post-trip inspections.
• Keep shuttle clean and fueled; report issues to supervisor.
• Wear company uniform and maintain professional appearance.
• Report concerns to Site Supervisor.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

SHUTTLE DRIVER - DALLAS VA MEDICAL CENTER

Salary Range: $19.00 To $19.00 Hourly

VetPride Services is seeking Shuttle Drivers in support of the shuttle operations at the Dallas VA Medical Center. We provide a complimentary shuttle service for VA patients and employees. VetPride Services prioritizes the recruitment and hiring of Veterans and military personnel.

Location: Dallas VA Medical Center, 4500 S. Lancaster Rd, Dallas, TX 75216

Shift: Monday-Friday, 5:15am-12:00pm

Hourly Rate: $19.00

Health & Welfare: $5.09/hr (as required by the SCA for the sole purpose of purchasing benefits.)

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a professional manner upon their arrival/departure.


• Assist customers with wheelchairs or walkers getting in and out of the shuttle.


• Safely operate shuttle to/from the parking areas/designated stops.


• Follow safe driving procedure and safety protocols at all times.


• Abide by all rules and regulations set by the VA.


• Effectively work as a team member with other drivers to ensure a successful transportation schedule.


• Conduct pre/post trip shuttle inspections prior to and after scheduled shift.


• Maintain shuttle in excellent condition by re-fueling and cleaning, as needed.


• Report to duty in company issued uniform; personal hygiene and a professional appearance is expected at all times.


• Report any issues or concerns to the Site Supervisor.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills

• Must be at least 21years of age.


• Will be subject to a pre-employment criminal background and DMV check.


• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.


• Must possess strong customer service skills and the ability to respond calmly and professionally when handling conflict.


• Consistent attendance and reliability required.


• Ability to understand, speak, and write basic English.


• Must have the ability to work independently and within established guidelines, follow directions, and work well with others.


• Technical capabilities and basic computer knowledge.


• Must possess a smartphone to utilize Time & Attendance features.

Experience Requirements

• 1-year driving experience


• Commercial passenger vehicle experience, preferred, but not required

Required Licenses or Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent


• Valid/Current Texas Commercial Driver’s License with P endorsement


• Valid/Current DOT Medical Certificate
