Job summary

ABM Industries is seeking a Shuttle Driver to transport passengers to and from airports, commercial facilities, hospitals, and other venues. The role involves safe operation of shuttle vehicles, helping passengers with loading, and providing directions to nearby routes.

Responsibilities include vehicle inspections, maintaining cleanliness, assisting passengers with special needs, and reporting incidents to supervision.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• No experience required and on the job training provided.
• No high school diploma, GED or college degree required.
• This role may require a CDL with a specific class and endorsement requirement.

Responsibilities

• Transport, load and unload passengers at designated locations.
• Ensure safe loading/unloading and operation of equipment for passengers with special needs (e.g. wheelchair lifts and tie-downs).
• Help passengers load/unload luggage as needed.
• Inspect vehicles regularly and perform routine cleaning and maintenance.
• Meet patrons needing assistance to and from airport locations and lots.
• Inspect shuttle for preexisting damage and record information.
• Provide excellent customer service and give directions to nearest highway or destination.
• Maintain and enforce bus evacuation plan and coordinate evacuation activities.
• Immediately report incidents to Operations Manager or Shift Lead.
• Refuel and maintain shuttle equipment and fuel-use logs.
• Maintain a clean work environment and disinfect shuttle after each use.
• Perform pre- and post-inspections to ensure safe operation and DOT compliance.

The Shuttle Driver drives passengers to and from assigned locations. Depending on the contractual need this could be around or near an airport, commercial building, hospital, sports arena, entertainment venue, educational facility or warehouse.

Responsibilities

• Transport, load and unload passengers, providing daily transportation services at designated pick-up and drop-off locations
• Ensure the safe loading and unloading of passengers, including the safe operation and handling of specialized equipment for unloading passengers with special needs (i.e wheelchair lifts and tie-downs)
• Help passengers to load and unload luggage as needed
• Inspect vehicles on a regular basis to find any unsafe conditions or maintenance issues; perform routine cleaning and bus maintenance activities
• Meet patrons needing assistance to and from various airport locations and lots
• Inspect shuttle for preexisting damage record information using electronic device or manual ticket
• Provide excellent customer service to guests; respond to guest inquiries in a courteous manner, give directions to nearest highway, destination, etc.
• Maintain and enforce bus evacuation plan and coordinates bus evacuation activities as appropriate
• Immediately reports any incidents or claims to Operations Manager or Shift Lead
• Refuel and maintain shuttle equipment and fuel use logs
• Maintain a clean work environment, disinfecting shuttle after each use
• Performs pre-inspection and post-inspection activities to ensure proper operating conditions, adherence to prescribed Department of Transportation standards, and compliance with proper safety standards
