Summary

This position provides service operation and preventative maintenance of passenger shuttle buses during scheduled shifts.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Operate routes from the University's main campus to various off-campus sites, housing, parking lots, and classroom facilities.
2. Route assignments and hours are subject to change.
3. Become knowledgeable of all Public Safety and University policies and procedures.
4. Maintain a courteous and professional environment and a well-groomed appearance.
5. Be prepared to adapt to the department's needs.
6. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. • High school diploma or GED.
• Must maintain a valid driver's license with a good driving record (a court purpose driver's license abstract must be provided with the application).
• Possession of a Commercial Driver's License with a passenger endorsement is required.
• Must pass a background check.
• Applicants must pass the IDOT Medical Examination and maintain an IDOT Medical Card.
• Must be physically fit and capable of assisting handicapped riders and operating a vehicle's wheelchair lift.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Note on Hours: Part-time hours are scheduled Sunday through Saturday between 8 am and 10 pm.
