Job summary

Chenega MIOS is hiring a Shuttle Driver in Chantilly, VA to provide safe, reliable bus transportation for civilians, military and contractors around the DC metro area. You will verify IDs, follow schedules, report to dispatch, and maintain logs and vehicle readiness.

The role demands a valid CMV with Passenger endorsement, a DOT medical card, a clean driving record, and strong communication. The position is on-site with a daytime to evening schedule. Training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 2+ years' prior experience driving a CMV transporting passengers in a professional capacity.
• Must have previous experience as a driver with a valid Commercial Driver's License with P (Passenger) Endorsement.
• Valid DOT Medical Examination Card.
• Driving record with limited safety violations.
• U.S. citizen required.
• Knowledge of capital region roads preferred.
• Background check with ability to obtain a Public Trust.
• Availability to start at 11:00 AM; varying shift end times.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all passengers/riders boarding DHHQ shuttles have valid ID before entering the shuttle.
• Maintain awareness of the operational environment in the Washington, DC Metro area.
• Shuttle drivers must arrive to work on time.
• Drive the shuttle buses following a set schedule or route.
• Ensure passengers are safely loaded and unloaded from buses.
• Maintain contact with the dispatcher and log passenger pickups/drop-offs.
• Verify necessary supplies at start of shift.
• Perform vehicle inspections and keep bus clean; fuel as needed.
• Complete pre and post shift paperwork including inspections.
• Assist with maintenance and appearance of shuttle bus and report malfunctions.
• Safely transport customers to company destinations.
• Safely operate ADA lift and assist passengers.
• Record number of passengers boarding for each trip.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Shuttle Drivers will provide a professional, fully operational, and safe shuttle bus service for the benefit of all civilians, military and contract personnel to include visitors working or visiting the DHHQ facility.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all passengers/riders boarding DHHQ shuttles have valid ID before entering the shuttle.
• Maintain awareness of the operational environment in the Washington, DC Metro area so they are not caught off guard.
• Shuttle drivers must arrive to work on time.
• Drive the shuttle buses following a set schedule or route.
• Ensure that passengers are safely loaded and unloaded from their buses.
• Must maintain contact with the dispatcher and keep track of passenger pickups and drop-offs as necessary for log count.
• Verify the necessary supplies at the start of each shift.
• Perform vehicle inspections, including maintaining a clean bus and fueling as needed.
• Completing both pre and post shift paperwork including inspection and maintenance review.
• Assist with the maintenance and appearance of shuttle bus and report any malfunctions or safety hazards to direct supervisor.
• Safely transport customers to the company approved destination.
• Safely Operate ADA lift and assist passengers requiring assistance.
• Record the number of passengers boarding for each trip.
• Other duties as assigned.
• No Supervisory Responsibilities

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• 2+ years' prior experience driving a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) transporting passengers in a professional capacity
  • Must have previous experience as a driver with a valid Commercial Driver's License with P (Passenger) Endorsement
• Valid DOT Medical Examination Card
• Driving record with no more than ONE safety violation or at-fault accident in the past 12 months, no more than TWO in the past THREE years, and no more than THREE points currently. Drivers shall have NO DUI(s) or DWI(s) in the past FIVE years,
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Knowledge of capital region roads is highly preferred.
• Background check with the ability to obtain a Public Trust
• Must be available to start at 11:00 AM; shift end time is variable and not guaranteed to end before 8:00 PM. Monday-Friday schedule, excluding government holidays.

• Ability to meet minimum security clearance requirements.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills that include the ability to interact with a wide variety of key stakeholders to ensure timely responses for all communications and deliverables across all projects.
• Superb planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
• Results-driven with a positive attitude and a high degree of initiative and responsiveness.
• Ability to multitask, meet tight deadlines, and attend to details while staying focused on key priorities and management.
• Ability to travel around the National Capital Region
• Drivers must have the stamina to sit for several hours at a time, and the hand-eye coordination to operate their vehicles while watching their surroundings.
• Ability to read street maps and understand their route by studying maps if necessary.
