Job summary

Brunswick Fort Wayne Operations is hiring for manufacturing roles to build pontoon boats with a long-standing tradition of quality and innovation. If you have a passion for watercraft, you’ll join a team dedicated to craftsmanship and safety on site in Fort Wayne.

You will use basic hand and power tools, read blueprints, and work with teammates to meet production goals. The role offers hourly pay of $19.00–$20.00 and a benefits package including medical, dental, 401k, and more.

Qualifications

  • Must wear PPE as designated, including safety glasses and hearing protection.
  • Flexible to work extended hours to support business needs.
  • Experience with basic hand and small power tools (drill, saws, sanders).
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints and engineering prints.
  • Previous manufacturing or machinery experience preferred.
  • Strong teamwork and communication within a production environment.
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills for shop floor processes.

  • Must possess the desire and ambition to work safely at all times and report hazards.
  • Understand and follow SOPs, work instructions, and engineering prints.
  • Visually inspect and audit units for quality and discuss issues with leads or supervisors.
  • Use a variety of electric and pneumatic hand tools.
  • Seek positive solutions to issues and maintain takt time.
  • Keep work area clean and organized, comply with policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions
  • Must possess the desire and ambition to work safely at all times, and report all hazards to their Supervisor immediately
  • Ability to understand and follow Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions, and Engineering Prints
  • Visually inspect and/or audit units for quality. Discuss quality issues with lead or supervisor to resolve problems.
  • Use a variety of electric and pneumatic hand tools
  • Seek positive solutions to issues and problems
  • Must be able to complete work within takt time
  • Keep work area clean and organized
  • Maintain a high standard of conduct and comply with company policies and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment where designated, including but not limited to: safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, sleeves, etc.
  • Must be flexible to work extended hours to support the requirements of the business
  • Experience using basic hand and small power tools including drill, saws, sanders, measuring tape, level, etc.
  • Must be able to read a blueprint
  • Previous manufacturing and/or machinery experience preferred
  • Must be able to communicate and work in a team environment
  • Demonstrate basic computer skills

The anticipated pay range for this position is $19.00 - $20.00, hourly.

The actual base pay offered will vary depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, relevant experience, business needs, and geographic location.

At Brunswick, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the salary range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent upon the specifics of the candidate’s qualifications and the business context.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently standing and lifting heavy objects weighing 50 to 100 pounds. The employee is constantly walking, pushing/pulling, reaching, and climbing stairs. The employee is occasionally squatting, kneeling, and using fine hand movements such as tightening screws, bolts, and securing pins. Specific vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus. Environmental demands include working both indoors and outdoors and is seasonally exposed to extreme temperatures.
