Job summary

WM Healthcare Solutions is hiring a Shredding Technician to support on-site document destruction for client locations. You will assist Drivers in safely operating equipment, securely handling documents, and maintaining a clean, secure work area.

This role focuses on high-quality service, safety, and proactive communication with account contacts to sustain client relationships. The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, with a preference for 1 year of picking/packing or customer service

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1 year of picking/packing experience or customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Operates company equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Ensure security when emptying consoles and locking bags.
  • Serve customer locations with minimal business disruption using handheld devices.
  • Transport documents to centralized destruction area.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Coordinate with supervisors to review service completion and efficiencies.
  • Follow all corporate policies and safety requirements.
  • Address customer questions promptly and professionally.
  • Develop relationships with account contacts to support contract renewals.

I. Job Summary

The Shredding Technician is responsible for providing industry leading levels of service to our clients by aiding Drivers and Lead Drivers in taking care of all customer document destruction needs. The integrity of every Shredding Technician is essential to maintaining goodwill and building new bonds of trust with our clients. The Shredding Technician is a member of the Operations team and plays an integral role as the face of WM Healthcare Solutions (WMHS). The Shredding Technician maintains WMHS policies, standards, and practices and ensures adherence to WMHS's Vision, Mission and Values.

II. Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Operates company equipment in a safe and efficient manner in an effort to minimize the risk of injury and equipment damage
  • Maintains a high level of security when emptying consoles by ensuring all documents are retrieved, bags are placed and the consoles are securely locked
  • Services customer locations in a manner that least interrupts the client’s business using a hand-held device
  • Transports documents at client locations to centralized area for destruction
  • Maintains a clean and safe working area
  • Conducts daily check-in with Transportation Supervisor/Manager to review service completion and efficiencies
  • Understand and implement all Corporate and Document Management division policies and procedures that impact job responsibility
  • Follows all safety requirements as outlined in corporate policies
  • Maintains a responsible approach to all security and safety matters related to Shred-it operations, following the company’s policies and procedures at all times and bringing the manager's attention to any areas of concern
  • Handles and responds to all customer problems and inquiries expediently and in the best interest of both the customer and Shred-it
  • Develops and maintains a relationship with the account contact and decision maker to ensure contract renewals and prevent lost business
  • Completes all necessary paperwork accurately as required by company policy
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities, as assigned

Pay: The expected base pay for this on‑site position is $21.00. This represents a good faith estimate for this position. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
