Job summary

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine at the University of Washington Medical Center is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor (WOT) to lead the Shoulder & Elbow Service. Responsibilities include education of residents and fellows, medical student teaching, and a clinical/research program.

The appointment is at the Assistant Professor WOT or Associate Professor WOT rank, with a flexible fall 2027 start date and a compensation package comprising base salary plus

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and board certification or eligibility in orthopaedic surgery.
• Fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery (or foreign equivalent).
• Washington State Medical License approved by hire date.
• For foreign graduates, USMLE steps completion may be required for sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Educate residents, fellows and medical students as part of the academic mission.
• Develop a busy clinical practice addressing shoulder and elbow conditions.
• Establish a robust program in clinical research, education, or basic research.

Education
