Job summary

4 Kids 2 Kids seeks an STRTP Administrator to oversee the Short-Term Residential Treatment Program, ensuring client needs are met and state compliance is maintained. The role leads admissions, interdisciplinary coordination, and supervision of the Residential Therapist team.

Required are an active STRTP Administrator certification and at least 3 years of experience with adolescents, plus a master’s degree in a relevant field. Live-Scan and CPR/First Aid are expected.

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Social Welfare, or related field.
  • At least 100 days of field practice in a social service setting at Master’s level.
  • Experience with children and families; minority population experience preferred.
  • Clear Live-Scan background check and CPR/First Aid certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Review intake packets from CA counties and coordinate admissions.
  • Coordinate and supervise client intake with social workers, probation, and facilities.
  • Supervise Residential Therapist team; assist with interviews when needed.
  • Maintain Needs and Services Plans and monthly reports for clients.
  • Input client data into Extended Reach for accurate reporting and audits.
  • Schedule and participate in CFT, IEP meetings, and health appointments.
  • Maintain master calendar and participate in rotating on-call duties.

Company Description 4 Kids 2 Kids is a housing and treatment organization focused on supporting commercially sexually exploited children (CSEC) and vulnerable youth. The organization operates a STRTP (Short Term Residential Treatment Program) that provides structured, therapeutic residential care. In addition, 4 Kids 2 Kids runs a transitional housing program that serves male, female, and pregnant or parenting non-minor dependents. Together, these programs offer safe housing, treatment, and transition support to help youth stabilize, heal, and move toward independence.

Job Description

The Administrator is solely responsible for, and designated by the Short-Term Residential Treatment Program (STRTP) , to ensure the unique and specific needs of each client are met. The Administrator also oversees the entire program for the assigned facility top ensure state compliance.

  • Review incoming and existing placement packets regarding potential clients from numerous State of California counties.Assess and screen all intake telephone calls stemming from social service agencies and/or law enforcement placing supervision agencies, such as Probation.
  • Timely coordination of admissions as well as navigate intra-agency transfers with other 4 Kids 2 Kids facilities.
  • Supervise the Residential Therapist team in the interviewing of potential clients; and if necessary, have the skillset to directly assess/interview/screen potential clients if/when Residential Therapist team is unavailable.
  • Coordinate and collaborate the intake of clients with Social Worker, Probation Agency, Facility Manager and Residential Therapist.
  • Input client information into Extended Reach to ensure for compliance driven reports and auditing by the State of California and/or the STRTP administrator.
  • Schedule well-being appointments on behalf of the client within the first 30 days in conjunction with the Facility Manager(Physical, Dental, Vision) of placement.
  • Enroll the client into the most appropriate academic setting within 3 days of client’s admission into the STRTP. If client has an Individual Education Plan (IEP), contact and coordinate with the school district, the educational rights holder, and all suitable parties, to schedule an IEP meeting to ensure educational needs are addressed and met.
  • Schedule, attend and participate in Child and Family Team (CFT) meetings as required by either the State of California mandates for each placing County agency and/or as required by the STRTP policies and procedures.
  • Oversee accurate and timely completion of Needs and Services Plans and Monthly Client Reports.
  • E-mail weekly Progress Reports to assigned social workers and/or probation agency personnel.
  • Attend and participate in Commercial Sexual Exploitation of Children (CSEC) Collaborative meetings.
  • Attend and participate in all IEP meetings, as well as ensure that the client as well as the advocates of the client are in attendance in person and/or via teleconference as needed.
  • Maintain daily/weekly/monthly appointment calendar for all clients in conjunction with the Facility Manager.
  • Rotating on-call duties as they arise.
  • Locating and securing residential clients mentors and advocates as needed.
  • Oversee and create work and therapy schedule for Residential Therapist clinical team.
  • File Suspected Child Abuse and Law Enforcement reports when needed.
Required Education and Work Experience
  • A Master’s Degree from an accredited or State approved graduate school, as defined by the Department of Education, in Social Work or Social Welfare, Marriage, Family and Child counseling, Child Psychology, Child Development, Counseling Psychology or Social Psychology.
  • Completion of at least three semester units or 100 days of field practice or experience in a public or private social service agency at the Master’s Degree level.
  • At least nine semester units of coursework related to children and families, or 18 months experience in working with children and families.
  • At least three semester units in working with minority populations; six months of experience in working with minority population; or six months in-service training in working with minority populations within the first year of employment as a condition of employment.
  • At least three semester units in child welfare, or two years’ experience in a public or private child welfare social services setting.
  • Ability to create and maintain each client’s Needs and Service plan on a monthly basis.
  • Practical, client-focused, strategies and training in crisis intervention and stabilization.
  • Knowledge, awareness, education, and training in current trauma-informed care methodologies for children and youth in foster care.
  • Successfully clear a Live-Scan background check and/or Current Criminal Exemption.
  • Current CPR/First Aid Certifications.
  • Knowledge of Community Care Licensing and CARF regulations.
  • Have at leastthree yearsof therapeutic experience working with adolescents.
  • Experience working with CSEC population as well as the challenges this population faces, and/or the public child welfare system, is highly desirable.
