Job summary

Sares Regis Group Residential in Newport Beach, CA is seeking a short-term Maintenance Technician I for the Aliso Viejo community (3 months, with potential extension). This role offers hands-on turnover, renovations, and routine maintenance across a 535-unit property.

Duties include electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, boilers/HVAC, carpentry, and after-hours coverage; candidates must read service orders and maintain safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in electrical, plumbing, drywall, painting, appliances, etc.
• Knowledge of OSHA and MSDS requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret service orders and manuals.
• Weekend availability required.

Responsibilities

• Turnover and renovation work on units and respond to maintenance requests.
• Perform external and internal repairs (drywall, painting, plumbing, etc.).
• Participate in after-hours coverage as needed.
• Operate machines and tools to fabricate parts.
• Fabricate and repair cabinets and wooden structures.
• Maintain inventory and keep facilities organized.

OPPORTUNITY SHORT-TERM MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN I - ALISO VIEJO, CA (3 MONTH DURATION + POTENTIAL EXTENSION)

DAYS/HOURS REQUIRED MONDAY - FRIDAY, 830AM - 530PM

Sares Regis Group is seeking an experienced maintenance professional for our beautiful 535-unit community, Aliso Creek Apartments! This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in the property management industry!

Duties

• Works in turnover and renovation units, as well as responds to maintenance service requests.
• Works on external, as well as internal repairs which may include, but is not limited to, drywall repairs, painting, fence and gate repairs, plumbing installation or repairs, appliance repairs, boilers and HVAC systems, and common area clean-up.
• Participates in emergency and after hours coverage based on the established schedule or as required.
• Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs and fixtures, and tools.
• Fabricates and repairs cabinets, counters, benches, partitions, and other wooden structures.
• Maintains or assists in maintaining inventory and prepares related paperwork.
• Keeps storage facilities and equipment in an orderly, working condition.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in all trades (electrical, plumbing, drywall, paint, appliances, etc.)
• Demonstrated knowledge and skill in performing quality work; able to use required tools and machinery; professional interaction with co-workers, residents and vendors; knowledge and continued education of OSHA requirements; knowledge of MSDS requirements appropriate to the scope of work.
• Ability to read and interpret service orders and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
• High school diploma or GED, technical school, or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Excellent customer service skills a must!
• Ability to work weekends required.

Salary & Benefits

Salary range is $24.00-$25.00/hour. We offer a competitive compensation package that includes a 401(K) match, rental incentive and renewal compensation, and bonuses. Regular full-time employees who work between 30-40 hours a week are eligible for medical, dental, vision, other voluntary benefits and vacation accrual. Sick time accrual is provided in accordance with law.
