This is a high-impact position for a trader who combines sharp market instincts with the discipline to operate within a structured governance environment at one of the world's leading financial institutions.

  • Execute trades to meet budgeted revenue targets while actively monitoring and managing book risk on an ongoing basis.
  • Anticipate client demand across short-term credit products and position the book to capture market opportunities ahead of flow.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key counterparties and institutional clients to drive trade flow to the desk.
  • Coordinate with Sales, Research, and desk analysts to develop the trading franchise and support client-facing activity.
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, Market Risk, Credit Risk, Audit, and Finance to uphold governance standards and maintain a sound control environment.
  • Assess the risk and reward of trading decisions with clear consideration for the firm's reputation, ensuring all activity aligns with applicable regulations, policies, and Citi's Code of Conduct.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • 2–5 years of trading experience at the Vice President level, with a focus on short-term credit products.
  • Hands‑on knowledge of Commercial Paper and institutional Yankee Certificates of Deposit markets, including trading protocol and closing mechanics.
  • Active FINRA Series 7 and Series 63 licenses are required for this role.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg and relevant booking systems used in fixed income or money market trading environments.
  • Strong analytical and numerical capability, with the ability to assess counterparty suitability and structure trades effectively.
  • Clear and confident communicator, able to engage credibly with clients, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of how financial markets function, including risk dynamics, market structure, and institutional trading conventions.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
  • Direct experience trading in the Commercial Paper primary or secondary market.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of money market instruments and short‑duration credit products beyond CP and Yankee CDs.
  • Master's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
What We Offer
  • Ownership of a live trading book with direct accountability for revenue generation and risk management from day one.
  • Exposure to a broad institutional client base and the opportunity to develop lasting counterparty relationships across the short-term credit market.
  • A collaborative trading environment where you work alongside experienced professionals across Sales, Research, and Risk.
  • Access to Citi's global markets infrastructure, including best-in-class systems, data, and analytical tools.
  • Clear pathways for career progression within Citi's Markets and Securities Services business.
  • Competitive compensation aligned to seniority, performance, and market benchmarks.
