Ideal candidates have experience editing YouTube Shorts or similar short-form content, especially in gaming, and can make independent editing decisions.

• Use gameplay, motion graphics, subtitles, sound design and visual effects effectively.
• Bring creative ideas and initiative to edits, avoiding repetitive techniques.
• Work closely with Short-Form Lead, implementing feedback and delivering revisions on time.

About the Job

We are looking for a talented Short-Form Video Editor to join the team working on Ali-A YouTube Shorts.

You’ll be responsible for editing high-quality gaming Shorts, with a strong understanding of pacing, visuals, and sound design. We’re looking for someone who can take a script and assets and bring their own creative ideas to the edit, rather than needing every visual decision mapped out for them.

We’re ideally looking for a dedicated long-term editor who can work consistently with the team and develop a strong understanding of the Ali-A editing style, although we’re open to part-time/project-based arrangements for the right person.

Responsibilities

• Edit high-quality YouTube Shorts for Ali-A on a consistent basis.
• Turn scripts, voiceovers and assets into polished edits with strong pacing and creative visuals.
• Use gameplay, motion graphics, subtitles, sound design and visual effects effectively throughout edits.
• Bring creative ideas and initiative to edits, finding varied ways to visually communicate key moments rather than relying on repetitive techniques.
• Work closely with our Short-Form Lead, responding to feedback and completing revisions on time.

Ideal Candidate

• Strong experience editing YouTube Shorts or similar short-form content.
• Previous gaming editing experience is strongly preferred.
• Excellent understanding of short-form pacing and visual storytelling.
• Strong creative instincts and the ability to make independent editing decisions.
• Confident with motion graphics, subtitles, sound design and visual effects.
• Reliable, organised and a strong communicator, with a proven ability to consistently hit deadlines.
• Comfortable receiving feedback and quickly adapting to an established editing style.
• Familiarity with Fortnite is a strong advantage.
• Able to work reliably within UK working hours.

Requirements

• A strong short-form editing portfolio demonstrating relevant work.
• Professional experience with Premiere Pro, After Effects or equivalent software.
• Availability to work consistently with the team on regular weekly Shorts.
• Flexibility to accommodate same-day turnaround edits when required.
