Job description

Short-Form Content Creator - Miami, FL

WhoIsDésir® | Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties, with select projects in Orlando

About the Opportunity

WhoIsDésir® is building relationships with short-form content creators who transform original concepts into compelling, platform-ready visual narratives. We seek creative talent who understand Instagram Reels, TikTok-style videos, and other vertical formats, including audience engagement, strategic hooks, narrative pacing, and concise storytelling.

We value creators who combine artistic vision with technical precision and a strong understanding of digital media. Whether you specialize in concept development, scripting, filming, editing, or end-to-end content production, we invite you to showcase your work and demonstrate your creative capabilities.

This opportunity may appeal to emerging and experienced creators who balance professional commitments, academic responsibilities, freelance engagements, or independent content ventures while pursuing additional creative collaborations.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop original concepts: Create distinctive ideas, scripts, creative treatments, and story outlines for short-form videos and social media campaigns.
  • Produce engaging content: Create Instagram Reels, TikTok-style videos, and other vertical assets that align with project objectives and audience interests.
  • Apply effective storytelling techniques: Use compelling openings, deliberate pacing, purposeful transitions, captions, and visual sequencing to communicate ideas and encourage viewer engagement.
  • Execute production requirements: Manage filming, editing, or production coordination according to the approved creative brief and project scope.
  • Adapt creative direction: Tailor presentation, editing style, and narrative structure to each platform, target audience, and campaign objective.
  • Collaborate with creative professionals: Coordinate with photographers, videographers, presenters, editors, and production contributors to maintain a consistent creative vision.
  • Manage revisions and deliverables: Organize drafts, incorporate agreed-upon feedback, and prepare final assets according to established specifications.
  • Maintain production standards: Follow creative briefs, technical requirements, deadlines, and approved content guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively: Provide timely project updates, identify production needs, and address potential challenges before they affect agreed-upon deliverables.
Skills and Qualifications

We welcome creators who combine creative judgment with technical proficiency, professional communication, and consistent execution.

Relevant capabilities include:

  • Understanding of short-form video storytelling, vertical composition, and mobile-first viewing experiences.
  • Familiarity with platform-native editing styles, narrative pacing, transitions, and audience engagement techniques.
  • Proficiency with relevant video editing applications, production tools, and social media publishing formats.
  • Ability to develop concepts, scripts, opening hooks, creative outlines, or shot plans when projects require them.
  • Attention to detail when reviewing footage, refining edits, applying captions, and preparing final deliverables.
  • Adaptability when collaborating with creative teams and incorporating constructive feedback.
  • Strong communication skills, dependable follow-through, and the ability to manage agreed-upon deadlines.

A large social media following is not required for consideration. We value relevant work samples, originality, storytelling ability, technical execution, and alignment with individual project requirements. A thoughtful portfolio can demonstrate your creative capabilities regardless of your audience size.

Who Should Apply?

We encourage submissions from social media content creators, short-form video editors, digital storytellers, aspiring filmmakers, independent creators, and individuals who produce original content for their own channels.

You may specialize in one stage of production or manage the entire process, from initial concept development through final delivery. Tell us about your strongest skills, describe your creative approach, and identify the types of assignments that interest you.

Students, early-career creatives, working professionals, and freelancers may find this opportunity relevant to their professional goals. We welcome diverse experience levels when applicants can demonstrate their abilities and communicate their preferred working arrangements.

Location and Scheduling

WhoIsDésir® focuses its creative recruitment efforts on Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach Counties, with select projects that may extend to Orlando.

Individual projects may involve in-person filming, scheduled production sessions, remote editing, or independently completed deliverables. We will communicate location requirements, scheduling expectations, deadlines, and necessary travel arrangements before a contributor accepts an assignment.

Please indicate your general location, typical availability, and capacity to participate in relevant production activities. These details help us evaluate potential alignment with future projects while recognizing existing employment, academic commitments, and freelance responsibilities.

Working Arrangements and Compensation

WhoIsDésir® evaluates potential creative collaborations according to project requirements, business needs, and applicant qualifications. Depending on the circumstances, an opportunity may involve part-time employment, a project-based engagement, or another appropriate arrangement.

The actual working relationship, assigned responsibilities, degree of control, and applicable law determine the proper classification of each engagement.

Before accepting an assignment, contributors should receive clear information about compensation, deliverables, revision limits, deadlines, content usage rights, publishing responsibilities, and other material project conditions.

Submitting an application does not guarantee an assignment, immediate compensation, a minimum number of hours, or ongoing work. Instead, it allows WhoIsDésir® to review your creative capabilities and consider your profile for opportunities that align with your experience and individual project requirements.
