Job summary

Supreme Services in New Iberia, LA, is seeking a Shop Technician to perform maintenance, repair, rebuild and testing of equipment from check-in to load-out.

You will handle heavy lifting, loading/unloading, use hand tools, disassemble/reassemble equipment, and work outdoors around moving machinery. Prior rental tool experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position requiring basic mechanical knowledge.
• Experience with oilfield related activities is helpful.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions by supervisors.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties from Check-in through load-out for Supreme Services equipment and materials.
• Maintain, wash mat, repair, rebuild, test equipment as directed.
• Load/unload material by hand or with equipment; identify and stage materials.
• Disassemble and reassemble equipment using a variety of tools.
• Work with moving equipment and in outdoor environments.
• Maintain good housekeeping in the work area and adhere to safety protocols.

Performs duties ranging from Check-in through load-out which could consist of the following: Maintenance, Wash Mat, Repair, Rebuild, Testing, & Low Pressure of Supreme Services equipment and materials.

Job Requirements

• The Shop Technician position is essentially an entry level position. It requires basic working knowledge of oilfield related activities, and some mechanical knowledge. Previous rental tool experience is helpful.
• Receives & follows oral as well as written instructions by supervisors to complete projects.
• Loads/unloads material to/from pallets, baskets, by hand, or using alternative lifting equipment.
• Uses a variety of tools and equipment to disassemble, repair, and reassemble Supreme equipment.
• Properly identifying materials, and distributing them to their staging area.
• Maintains good housekeeping skills of a work area daily.
• May perform simple adjustments and/or repairs to equipment within a work area as directed.
• Heavy work classification.
• Exerting 50 lbs. frequently and/or occasionally.
• Long periods of sitting, standing, stooping, bending, kneeling and reaching.
• Push / Pull while exerting manual force.
• Works outdoors.
• Works with moving equipment.
• Repetitive motions and manual handling of material.
• Manually tightening or loosening hammer type union connections by using overhand swinging of a 4‑12‑pound hammer.
• Works at a rapid, but efficient safe pace.
