Job summary

Steel Service in Flowood, MS is seeking an entry-level assembler/inventory handler who will manage shop parts inventory, pull parts for fabrication, and pattern for production. You will operate overhead cranes, magnets, dolly, and forklifts to move heavy parts in a hot and cold environment.

The role requires basic math, ability to use a tape measure, and willingness to perform general labor duties, including palletizing, staging materials, and maintaining accurate inventory records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Past Construction or Machine Shop experience.

Responsibilities

• Pull parts for jobs to ensure they are available for fabrication.
• Maintain a parts memo in cases where parts are missing or wrong for a job.
• Responsible for palletizing parts, stage material and marked with identifying information.
• Ensure that all inventory parts are cut for a job prior to the job start.
• Must be able to use a tape measure.
• Move materials to and from storage or production areas, by hand or using overhead cranes, forklifts, magnets, or other equipment.
• Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being transported.
• Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is protected.
