Job summary

Berg Construction is seeking a Shop Mechanic/Service Technician to diagnose and repair heavy equipment and trucks, enabling field personnel to return to work. This on-site role supports a variety of construction machinery and vehicles.

Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical, hydraulic and diesel systems, performing repairs on multiple brands, and providing on-site training as needed. A strong safety mindset and independent work style are essential.

Qualifications

• 2 years' preferred experience with heavy construction equipment.
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment problems.
• Strong initiative; work independently with minimal supervision.
• Understanding of equipment safety importance.
• Must have basic set of mechanic's hand tools.
• Able to work on several types and brands of equipment.
• Valid driver's license; CDL preferred but not required.
• Able to pass drug test and background check.
• A good attitude.

Job description

**Berg Construction is a locally owned and operated excavation company. We are currently growing and are looking to hire a Shop Mechanic/Service Technician to join our Team. The Shop Mechanic will diagnose and repair heavy equipment and trucks, in a safe manner to allow our field personnel to return to work. This position works on location most of the time.**

**The Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing issues on automotive, heavy trucks and a variety of construction equipment.**

Duties And Responsibilities

• **Complete repairs on various types of truck & equipment**
• **Troubleshoot, repair and maintain of mechanical, electrical, hydraulics and diesel systems**
• **Provide on-site personnel basic training, as needed**

Qualifications

• **At least 2 years' preferred experience with heavy construction equipment**
• **Ability to effectively diagnose and troubleshoot complex equipment problems**
• **Strong initiative required; ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision**
• **Have a clear understanding of the necessity of equipment safety**
• **Must have basic set of mechanic's hand tools**
• **Must be able to work on several types and brands of equipment**
• **Valid Driver's License, CDL preferred but not required**
