Job summary

Superior Electrical, Mechanical & Plumbing, Inc. in Tracy, CA is seeking an experienced Shop Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and inspections on gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment, including stake-bed trucks and construction gear.

The role requires at least 10 years of relevant shop experience, strong English communication, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Work week is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of recent, relevant experience as a shop mechanic.
• Proficient in English; ability to prepare clear, professional reports and emails.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine vehicle maintenance, including oil and filter changes, tune-ups, brake and shock replacements.
• Perform work from floor creepers, two-post lifts, jack stands or in-ground lifts.
• Inspect and diagnose engines, transmissions, and other components using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment and vehicle performance problems.
• Collaborate with supervisors, managers, and internal teams to provide updates on repair status and material requirements.
• Ensure a clean and safe work environment while strictly adhering to all safety protocols.
• Perform test drives of vehicles in compliance with company guidelines.
• Assist with additional duties as needed to support departmental operations.

We are currently seeking a Shop Mechanic to join our team in Tracy, CA. The Shop Mechanic is responsible for performing preventive maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and inspections on a variety of gasoline- and diesel-powered vehicles and equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, stake-bed trucks, vans, pickup trucks, and construction equipment.

Schedule

• Monday - Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
