Job summary

Red River Ski Area Inc is seeking an automotive and snow equipment mechanic to maintain and overhaul diesel and gasoline vehicles, snowmobiles, and grooming machines at our resort in Kentucky. You will plan work procedures, raise vehicles for access, and perform precise mechanical repairs and overhauls.

The role requires ability to read instructions, work in extreme weather, operate heavy equipment, and be dependable with daily scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and overhauls diesel and gasoline vehicles, trucks, and snow equipment.
  • Raises vehicles with hydraulic jack or hoist to access mechanical units.
  • Repairs or replaces pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
  • Overhauls or replaces carburetors, blowers, generators, and pumps.
  • Rebuilds parts such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks; rewires ignition systems and lights.
  • Relines brakes, aligns front end, repairs shocks, and fixes radiator leaks.
  • Installs ignition systems, boots transmission work, and replaces batteries.
  • Lubricates moving parts and tests repaired vehicles for conformance to specs.
  • Fabricates lifting/towing attachments and hydraulic systems per blueprints.
  • Inspects hydraulic lines for leaks and replaces worn components.
  • Performs routine maintenance like changing filters.
  • May be asked to work extra hours and maintain neat appearance and uniforms.

Job description

Maintains and overhauls diesel and gasoline automobiles, trucks, tractors, snowmobiles, snow grooming machines, and other vehicles by performing the following duties.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Examines vehicle and discusses with the supervisor the nature and extent of damage or malfunction. Plans work procedure.
  • Raises the vehicle with a hydraulic jack or hoist to gain access to mechanical units bolted to its underside.
  • Repairs or replaces pistons, rods, gears, valves, and bearings.
  • Overhauls or replaces carburetors, blowers, generators, distributors, starters, and pumps.
  • Rebuilds parts such as crankshafts and cylinder blocks. Rewires ignition system, lights, and instrument panel.
  • Relines and adjusts brakes, aligns front end, repairs or replaces shock absorbers, and solders leaks in radiator.
  • Mends damaged body and fenders by hammering out or filling in dents and welding broken parts.
  • Install new ignition systems, align front wheels, change or recharge batteries, and replace transmissions and other parts.
  • Lubricates moving parts and drives repaired vehicle to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Fabricates particular lifting or towing attachments, hydraulic systems, shields, or other devices according to blueprints or schematic drawings.
  • Visually inspects hydraulic lines and components to detect leaks, damage, and wear.
  • Replaces worn or damaged hydraulic components such as oil lines, fittings, cylinders, servo valves, pressure release valves, gaskets, and seals.
  • Performs routine maintenance, such as changing filters.
