Job summary

Ellingson is hiring a Level II Shop Mechanic to join a growing team. The role involves repairing and maintaining equipment and vehicles across sites in the United States. The position includes paid travel, health/dental/vision insurance, and a 401(k) match.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years of experience, a High School diploma, and own a comprehensive tool set. Class A CDL and DOT certification are preferred or obtainable. Medical Examiner’s Certificate required.

Qualifications

The Level II Shop Mechanic will be responsible for the following:

• Repair and maintain equipment and vehicles.
• Operate equipment to diagnose problems and inspect equipment for defects.
• Maintain proper record keeping and request work orders for all repairs.

Requirements:

• Ability to work in shop environment.
• Minimum 2-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiarity with various types of construction equipment.
• Class A CDL preferred, or ability to obtain.
• DOT certification preferred, or ability to obtain.
• Medical Examiner’s Certificate required.
• Must have own set of comprehensive set of tools and toolbox to complete most mechanical repairs.
• Knowledge to assist with a large variety of repairs and overall knowledge.
• Must have familiarity with diagnostic tools and programs.
• Strong ability to diagnose and troubleshoot repairs over the phone and computer.

• Some travel required, typically up less than 10%.
