Job summary

Boden Autohaus in Irvine, CA, is seeking a lead automotive technician to supervise complex builds on exotic European platforms and oversee day-to-day shop operations.

You will mentor technicians, coordinate high-end projects, ensure quality control at milestones, and uphold Boden standards across performance modifications. Join a growing shop with a strong social media presence and global recognition.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on automotive technician experience.
• 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role within an automotive shop.
• Experience with European and exotic platforms (Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, etc.).
• Knowledge of performance modifications including exhaust, suspension, turbo/supercharger, brakes, wheels & tires, and aero.
• ASE certifications preferred; Master Technician status a strong plus.

• Directly supervise and coordinate automotive technicians, fabricators, and shop staff on a daily basis.
• Assign tasks and manage workload based on skill level, project priority, and shop capacity.
• Oversee all active vehicle builds from intake to final delivery, performing quality control inspections at key milestones.
• Serve as the primary technical resource for complex diagnostics, performance installations, and fabrication challenges.
• Onboard and mentor new team members on Boden procedures, standards, and platform-specific knowledge.

Responsibilities:

• Directly supervise and coordinate automotive technicians, fabricators, and shop support staff on a daily basis
• Assign tasks and manage workload based on skill level, project priority, and shop capacity
• Oversee all active vehicle builds from intake to final delivery, performing quality control inspections at key milestones
• Serve as the primary technical resource for complex diagnostics, performance installations, and fabrication challenges
• Review work orders, customer specifications, and build plans before work begins; monitor progress and resolve bottlenecks
• Perform and approve final vehicle inspections prior to customer delivery
• Onboard and mentor new team members on Boden procedures, standards, and platform-specific knowledge
• Develop and enforce shop SOPs, safety protocols, and quality standards
• Manage tool and equipment inventories; coordinate maintenance and repair of shop equipment
• Coordinate parts receiving and staging to ensure availability aligns with active build schedules
• Provide daily build status updates to ownership; communicate proactively on scope changes or timeline adjustments
• Foster a professional, team-first environment that reflects Boden Autohaus’s brand and reputation

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of hands-on automotive technician experience required
• 2+ years in a lead, foreman, or supervisory role within an automotive shop
• Strong experience with European and exotic vehicle platforms (Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, McLaren, etc.)
• In-depth knowledge of performance modifications including exhaust, suspension, turbo/supercharger, brakes, wheels & tires, and aero
• Excellent eye for quality and strict attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with ownership, staff, and customer-facing team
• ASE certifications preferred; Master Technician status a strong plus
• Own tools required
