Job summary

Blackeagle is seeking a Painter to work with heavy equipment, apply coatings, and maintain spray equipment in a production environment in Berthoud, CO. You will follow SSPC standards, wear PPE, and contribute to safety and quality on each project.

Requires 2+ years of industrial painting experience, knowledge of epoxy and polyurethane coatings, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Mon-Fri with potential Saturdays, 8-10 hour days.

Qualifications

• 2+ years industrial painting experience.
• Experience with epoxies and coatings (2-part epoxies, acrylic polyurethane).
• Knowledge of SSPC surface preparation standards.
• Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds.
• Typical Mon-Fri schedule with 8- to 10-hour days; possible Saturdays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work area including taping, sanding, and surface prep.
• Apply coatings per manufacturer specs and customer requirements.
• Maintain paint equipment in clean and working order.
• Use PPE (PPE) including masks and Tyvek suits as required.
• Operate airless spray systems and conventional spray pots.
• Read and interpret blueprints and product data sheets.
• Adhere to company safety protocols and procedures.

JOB SUMMARY
The Painter will work with heavy equipment, grinding tools, high pressure paint pumps and power tools, perform periodic touch up and outside painting, and retrieve and store paints from storage area.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLI

• Prepare work area including taping, sanding, surface prep, and mixing, etc.
• Knowledge of different types of paints or coatings such as 2-part epoxies acrylic polyurethane, internal paint lining, direct to metal epoxy.
• Apply coatings to manufactures specifications and customers’ requirements.
• Maintain paint equipment in clean and working order.
• Utilize Fresh Air or Full-Face Masks and Tyvek Suits (PPE) to perform duties.
• Operate and understand airless spray system.
• Operate and understand conventional spray pot.
• Read and interpret blueprints and product data sheets.
• Operate a pneumatic DA sander, mixing drill etc.
• Promote and adhere to company safety protocols and regulations.
• Support and exemplify the company’s mission and values in all interactions.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

• 2+ years previous industrial painting experience.
• Plural unit experience is a plus
• Experience in application of paints and specialty coatings (pump, airless, & conventional spray, brush/roller).
• Experience in application of specialty coatings (epoxies, urethanes, & zincs).
• Knowledge and experience working with the surface preparation standards SSPC.
• Experience working with or removing heavy metals a plus.
• Familiarity with high pressure paint pumps
• Typical Mon-Fri schedule, 8-10hr days, possible Saturdays
• Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Must be able to tolerate frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crouching throughout the workday.
• Capability to push, pull, grasp, and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Must be able to wear and operate the required personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hard hats, safety glasses, and gloves.
