Enforce safety rules and keep the floor clean and organized.
Train new operators on setup, inspection, and shop procedures.
Review shift handoffs and close out work orders at the end of the day.
Open the shop each morning and confirm which jobs are running on each machine.
Assign work to machinists and operators based on schedule and skill.
Check first articles and spot‑check parts during the shift.
