Job summary

Hanover Iron Works, Inc. is seeking a skilled Shop Foreman for the second shift to lead fabrication and production activities, ensuring safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

You will oversee shop personnel, coordinate with other departments, enforce policies, and maintain production and fabrication schedules. This role requires hands-on leadership, strong communication, and the ability to manage overtime and weekend shifts to meet customer deadlines.

Qualifications

• Managerial or supervisory experience required.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Detailed knowledge of the industry.
• Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Must be able to work 2nd shift, overtime and Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and guidance for shop employees.
• Adhere to and enforce all company policies.
• Manage all aspects of the fabrication shop, including personnel, equipment, tools, materials, etc.
• Update and maintain the production schedule.
• Update and maintain the fabrication schedule.
• Coordinate and schedule deliveries.
• Establish and publish standard fabrication procedures.
• Maintain high quality standards and QC procedures to ensure a quality product on time.
• Continually evaluate production procedures to increase effectiveness and quality.
• Communicate with other departments to meet project schedules.
• Maintain all equipment and buildings as applicable and necessary.
• Communicate with other departments and facilities regarding product status, quality, and delivery.
• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
• Make decisions that protect the best interests of the company.
• Maintain a balanced workload in the shop and provide feedback to the Regional Fabrication Operations Manager as needed.
• Maintain inventory levels as needed and discussed with the First Shift Foreman, Regional Fabrication Operations Manager and Purchasing.
• Determine work hours as needed to maintain delivery schedules.

ABOUT THIS POSITION:

The 2nd Shift Parts & Plates Shop Foreman is responsible for directing and coordinating daily performance, fabrication and production activities during the second shift. This position provides hands‑on leadership to shop personnel, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards and production schedules. The Foreman serves as the primary point of contact for shift operations and collaborates cross‑functionally with other fabrication facilities, project management, logistics, purchasing, and others to ensure on time delivery and company objectives are consistently achieved.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide leadership and guidance for shop employees
