Job summary

Komatsu America Corp. seeks a skilled field service technician to maintain and repair Komatsu equipment, with a main focus on hard rock underground applications. You will operate onsite in Tucson, Arizona, ensuring timely repairs and compliance with safety policies.

The role requires a GED or higher, an associate degree in Diesel Technology preferred, and at least 2 years of related experience. Flexibility for shift work is essential, with certification requirements noted for safety equipment

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate Degree in Diesel Technology or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair Komatsu equipment with focus on hard rock underground.
  • Timely, effective repairs of machine components in the Field.
  • Complete assigned jobs to meet flat rate times and re-do metrics.
  • Work safely and follow all KEC/Customer safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete related paperwork and access required databases (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.
  • Follow contamination control and HAZMAT rules and regulations.
  • Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
  • Provide accurate quotes and pricing estimates to the customer.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give recommendations for repairs.
  • Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
  • Apply general failure analysis to determine proper diagnosis.

Job Overview

Additional Information

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

  • Certified to operate a forklift and/or manlift.
  • May be required to complete a DOT physical.
  • Required to complete MSHA surface and undergroundcertification.
