Job summary

Sentradel in San Francisco is seeking a hands-on Shop Assistant to maintain the build floor and support the engineering team. Responsibilities include cutting and prepping metal stock, organizing the shop, and assisting engineers.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable with hand and power tools. Must be a US citizen or green card holder. The position offers flexible hours.

Sentradel builds autonomous counter-drone systems in San Francisco. We design, build, and test hardware that finds and defeats drones. We are looking for a hands‑on Shop Assistant to keep our build floor running and support the engineering team.

What you will do:

• Cut, trim, and prep metal stock and raw materials for builds
• Keep the shop clean, organized, and stocked at all times
• Support the engineers and the wider team with whatever the build needs
• Receive shipments, track parts, and stage materials for projects
• Run basic shop equipment and hand and power tools safely
• Set up and break down work areas and keep tools where they belong
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe, orderly workspace

What we are looking for:

• Hands on, mechanically inclined, and not afraid of physical work
• Comfortable with hand tools, power tools, and cutting equipment
• Reliable, punctual, and detail oriented
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stay on your feet for long stretches
• Good attitude, takes initiative, easy to work with
• Must be a US person (US citizen or green card holder) due to the nature of our work

Nice to have, not required:

• Experience cutting or fabricating metal
• Shop, machining, automotive, or construction background
• Interest in robotics, drones, or hardware
