Job Description

Under general supervision, the shop apprentice performs a variety of light mechanical repair and preventive maintenance and assists shop technicians and mechanics with corrective maintenance on internal combustion (IC) engines, natural gas and liquefied petroleum (LP) generators. This entry‑level position offers opportunities for advancement to a shop technician role upon sustained outstanding performance.

Essential Duties

• Wash units, trucks, and other equipment, including cleaning units inside and out.
• Perform preventive maintenance on pressure washer.
• Move generator units to and from locations using a forklift.
• Perform forklift daily, weekly, and monthly inspections.
• Assist shop mechanics in tasks such as removing/installing parts, checking SOPs, and routine inspections.
• Assist other team members with removing/installing parts, verifying engine specifications, and repairing and maintaining shop tools/equipment.
• Maintain a clean work area and ensure tools are put away.
• Perform light mechanical work on internal combustion engines and natural gas engines and generators.
• Perform all other job duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education:

• High School or equivalent.

Experience:

• None required.

Preferred:

• Relevant experience.
• Honorably discharged service veteran.
• Forklift experience.

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:

• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record.

• Willing to consent to and pass a background check and drug screening.
• Ability to pass a WorkSTEPS physical.
• Willing to work Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
