Job summary

Morning Brew Inc. is seeking a shooter/editor to own a range of video content across platforms, from long-form YouTube explorations to short vertical clips. You’ll collaborate with producers to shape story, tone, and visuals, and contribute input during scripting and pre-production.

Proficiency in Premiere Pro is essential; experience with After Effects or Photoshop is a plus. You will regularly work from our Manhattan office, with a chance to influence the creative direction of multiple

Qualifications

• 4+ years of editing experience in Adobe Premiere Pro.
• 4+ years of shooting experience, preferably with field/verite style shooting.
• Experience creating content for YouTube and social video platforms.
• Basic proficiency in After Effects or Photoshop is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Shooting and editing 10-20 minute YouTube videos in various styles (Explainer, vlog, doc).
• Shooting and editing 1-3 minute vertical video for Shorts, Reels, and TikTok.
• Collaborating with producers to craft story, tone, and visuals.
• Music selection, sound design, color correction, and audio leveling.
• Coordinate with motion graphics designers to integrate animations efficiently.
• Demonstrate basic keyframing motion and on-screen text, and apply simple VFX.

OVERVIEW

We are looking for a shooter/editor who is excited by the prospect of working on a variety of content types for a variety of platforms. The ideal candidate embraces tactics that yield best performance on a platform by platform basis, but also takes the initiative to contribute their own style and creativity. Efficiency is the name of the game, which doesn’t always have to mean moving quickly. Our team embraces the opportunity to learn new tools and software that can improve the quality of our videos and open up new creative possibilities in our editing.

Shooter/editors here are not just hands on keyboards executing notes from a producer. We don’t only welcome your input, but at times need it. We include shooter/editors in the scripting and pre-production process to to get the best possible outcomes in post. You’re the first to know when the video is dragging, so we want you to call that out and try trimming a few bytes from that interview section.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Shooting and editing 10-20 minute youtube videos in a variety of styles (Explainer, vlog, and doc styles are most common, but we’re always experimenting)
• Shooting and editing 1-3 minute vertical video of Youtube Shorts, Reels, and Tiktok
• Partnering with producers to craft story, tone of voice, and visual direction
• Music selection, sound design, basic color correction and audio leveling
• Working and coordinating with motion graphics designers to most efficiently incorporate their animations into edits
• We have a fantastic motion graphics team, but we love it when an editor can quickly put together some basic keyframing motion, text on screen moments, and incorporate some RedGiant effects to create some basic vfx looks

WHAT YOU'LL BRING

• 4+ years of editing experience in Adobe Premiere Pro
• 4+ years of shooting experience, preferably with some experience in field or verite style shooting
• Must have experience working on content made specifically for Youtube and social video platforms
• Basic proficiency in After Effects or Photoshop is a nice-to-have
• Ability to be scrappy in Premiere when creating graphics and text elements
• Comfortable managing multiple projects at a time
• Can edit for humor and can edit for dense explainers, sometimes in the same video
• You consume Youtube content and are aware of trends and common/best practices for the platform
• You can regularly work from our office in Manhattan

COMPENSATION

$90,000 - $100,00*Final offers for this job will be made within the parameters of the salary range provided, commensurate with experience. Total offer package to include benefits highlighted under our perks section below.
