Job summary

Suffolk Regional OTB / Jake's 58 Casino Hotel seeks a professional bartender to deliver high-volume service in our casino bar area while ensuring compliance with state laws and company policies. You will take drink/food orders, mix drinks to standard recipes, and maintain accurate sales records.

Responsibilities include enforcing liquor laws, maintaining stock, and performing opening/closing duties with guest-focused service. NY gaming license eligibility and TIPS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience as a bartender in a high-volume environment preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a New York State Gaming License.
• New York State TIPS certification is preferred.

• Cleans and stores bar equipment.
• Performs opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned.
• Knows liquor law: service to anyone under 21 or intoxicated is prohibited.

• Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for patrons following standard recipes and using company standardized proportions; serves wine and bottled beer or draws draught beer.
• Maintain accurate record of sales.
• Completes Daily Bar Sales Report accurately.
• Maintains bar stock by ordering or requisitioning liquors, beverages, condiments and supplies.
• Cleans and stores bar equipment.
• Performs opening, closing, and side work duties as assigned.
• Know liquor law service to anyone under age 21 or anyone intoxicated is prohibited.
• Serves patrons food and/or beverages in the bar area.
• Enters and operates NY State lottery terminal.
• Must Role Model Company guest service program.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One to two years’ previous experience as a bartender in a high-volume environment preferred.
• Must be able to obtain a New York State Gaming License.
• New York State TIPS certified is a preferred.

Other

• Able to lift and carry up to thirty pounds occasionally.
• Good guest service and verbal skills.
• Weekends, Holidays and swing shift work may be required.
