Job summary

Tidewater Staffing is seeking Insulators for work in Newport News, VA, Chesapeake, VA, Portsmouth, VA, and Norfolk, VA shipyards. Responsibilities include installing/removing insulation on ships during repairs and modernization.

Candidates should have 1–5 years' insulation experience, knowledge of insulation types, basic math and blueprint reading, and a commitment to OSHA safety standards. Tools and safety rules must be followed.

Qualifications

• 1–5 years' experience in lagging and insulation.
• Knowledge of insulation types and appropriate use.
• Basic math and measuring; reading specs and blueprints.
• Ability to follow safety rules and OSHA standards.
• Safe use of hand/power tools and shop equipment.

Responsibilities

• Install and/or remove insulation on ship components during repairs.
• Measure, cut and fabricate insulation for bulkheads, piping, ducts, machinery and equipment.
• Follow instructions and perform related tasks as assigned.
