Job summary

Siemens in Wendell, NC seeks a Shipping Team Lead for 1st shift to manage loading/unloading operations and inventory with a focus on safety and Lean practices.

You will operate forklifts and SAP systems to ensure accurate shipments, while mentoring junior staff and enforcing 5S standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in a shipping department of a manufacturing plant.
• 3+ years' experience with forklifts (Reach truck, sit down, Cherry pickers).
• Proficient in using SAP – ERP system and RF Devices.
• Must be able to lift parts or sub-assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs. occasionally.
• Basic proficiency in English, reading, writing, and speaking.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and resolve conflict professionally.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing setting or a related position.
• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment within the United States without the need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Safely operates a stand-up reach truck, stand-up order picker, sit-down forklift, and drives a Yard Jockey to position trailers for loading/unloading; proficient with small hand tools, battery, electrical, and air power tools.
• Accurately receives incoming materials, supplies, and products; verifies shipments, inspects condition, files damage claims, and records received items per established procedures.
• Maintains and manages inventory while ensuring adherence to 5S+, Lean principles (8 Wastes, VSM, Kaizens, Standard Work), and continuous process improvement.
• Adheres to developed processes and methods, while also identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Empowers the team by participating in equipment/work area cleaning for safety and functionality, and supports new employee training and SAP system access setup.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the Warehouse Manager.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working in the shipping department of a manufacturing plant.
• 3+ years' experience with Forklifts (Reach truck, sit down, Cherry pickers)
• Proficient in using SAP – ERP system and RF Devices.
