Job summary

Douglas Dynamics is seeking a Shipping Supervisor to lead the shipping team, coordinate operations, and ensure safety, quality, and efficiency in order fulfillment. The role emphasizes lean practices and collaboration with other departments to meet daily targets.

The ideal candidate will have leadership experience in shipping/logistics, a background in manufacturing with lean methods, and proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Must have leadership experience in a shipping, logistics, or warehouse environment, or comparable professional training/education.
• Bachelor's degree a plus.
• Computer skills with Microsoft Office; must learn ERP/MRP software to manage inventory, orders, and billing.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment with lean practices is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the activities of production workers in a unit with focus on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Coordinate operations with other BU Supervisors; plan and establish work schedules.
• Determine daily schedule and manpower to meet shipping and material-handling targets.
• Troubleshoot equipment to maximize uptime.
• Establish and maintain lean metrics; communicate results to management.
• Lead Kaizen and 3P events within the unit.
