Job summary

Mobile Communications America in North Charleston, SC is seeking an experienced Shipping and Receiving Specialist to support our Security division. You will unpack, inspect, route shipments, and coordinate with shippers to resolve issues while maintaining inventory and safety.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years in shipping/receiving, and proficiency with MS Office. You will work in a hands-on environment with occasional lifting and driving for parts

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in Shipping and Receiving.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, such as Word and Excel.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Unpack, examine, and route incoming shipments; report damaged items.
• Operate lift trucks and hand carts to move materials between departments.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Track goods with computer systems and update records.
• Support shipment of produced goods and receiving items for production/storage.
• Maintain an adequate supply of shipping materials.
• Resolve inventory and material needs issues as they arise.
• Update computer-generated inventories and documentation.
• Make pickups/deliveries to suppliers using a company van.
• Keep work area clean and follow safety procedures.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

• Unpacking, examining, and routing incoming shipments, rejecting damaged items, recording shortages, and corresponding with shippers to rectify damages and shortages.
• Operating lift trucks, forklifts, scissor lifts, or hand trucks to convey, move, or hoist materials to proper departments or areas.
• Maintaining inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Performing all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods.
• Supporting the shipment of goods produced and the received goods and supplies to be used in or to aid in the production/storage of goods destined for sales to our customer base.
• Maintaining an adequate supply of shipping materials.
• Resolving material needs and inventory control issues as they arise.
• Updating computer-generated inventories and documents.
• Facilitating fulfillment orders by gathering materials or inventory.
• Making pickups and deliveries to suppliers for parts and raw materials using a company van, as needed.
• Maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and following proper safety procedures.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience in Shipping and Receiving.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, such as Word and Excel.
• Strong communication skills.

YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical environment requires the employee to work inside. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to frequently stand, walk, sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear; lift (overhead, waist level) from the floor, bending, frequently utilize near vision use for reading and computer use; occasionally move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, and frequently position self to maintain computers or other equipment as needed.
