Job summary

SCHMIDT INDUSTRIAL SERVICES LLC is seeking a hands-on Warehouse Associate to manage shipping, receiving, and local deliveries. You will handle inventory control, prepare outbound shipments, and coordinate with purchasing and operations to ensure timely order fulfillment.

The role requires a valid driver’s license, reliable work ethic, and basic computer skills to track inventory. You will contribute to a safe, efficient warehouse environment with strong customer service.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily shipping and receiving operations for parts and materials.
• Inspect, verify, and process incoming shipments against POs and packing lists.
• Prepare, pack, label, and schedule outbound shipments on time.
• Maintain organized warehouse/storage areas and ensure inventory control.
• Track inventory levels, conduct cycle counts, and update records.
• Coordinate with purchasing, sales, and operations on part availability and orders.

Key Responsibilities

Shipping & Receiving / Warehouse Management

• Oversee all daily shipping and receiving operations for parts and materials
• Inspect, verify, and process incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists
• Prepare, pack, label, and schedule outbound shipments accurately and on time
• Maintain organized warehouse/storage areas and ensure proper inventory control
• Track inventory levels, conduct cycle counts, and update records in the system
• Coordinate with purchasing, sales, and operations teams regarding part availability and order status
• Manage shipping documentation, including bills of lading, packing slips, and delivery confirmations
• Resolve discrepancies, damaged goods, or shortages promptly

Driving & Delivery/Pickup Duties

• Safely operate company vehicle to deliver parts to customers and pick up parts from suppliers or other locations
• Plan efficient routes for daily deliveries and pickups
• Load and unload parts carefully, securing cargo properly
• Obtain signatures and complete delivery/pickup documentation
• Maintain the cleanliness and basic upkeep of the delivery vehicle
• Report any vehicle issues, accidents, or incidents immediately
• Provide professional and courteous service to customers during deliveries and pickups

Additional Duties

• Assist with general warehouse tasks as needed
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
• Follow all company policies and safety procedures
• Perform other related duties as assigned
