Job summary

Marathon Cheese Corporation seeks a warehouse associate to load, sort, and ship orders in a clean, refrigerated facility. You will accurately select customer orders, stage them for loading, and back trailers with a spotter truck as needed.

The role requires comfort with numbers, basic math, and barcoding systems. Flexibility for overtime, weekends, and varying shifts is common in this position.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Education beyond High School would be a plus.
• Forklift experience is desirable.
• Prior manufacturing and/or packaging experience would also be a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that all loads are received on safe and clean trailers with acceptable temperatures.
• Select all customer orders with 100% accuracy, stage and safely load on trailers.
• Back in trailers using the spotter truck when required.
• Maintain safe trailer loading procedures including weight distribution and pallet-load integrity.
• Work in refrigerated temperatures and lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
• Assist in keeping the working environment clean and safe.
• May train others and perform additional duties as assigned by supervision.

Knowledge/Skills Required

• Must be comfortable working with numbers, computers or capable of being trained on keyboarding skills and be able to comprehend and understand the new bar coding and confirmation system.
• Must be accurate in basic math and able to read shipping documents. Neat and legible penmanship is helpful.
• A positive attitude and ability to work in a team concept is a must.
• Must have good organizational and time management skills.
• Must be dependable and have a certain degree of flexibility to work overtime, different shifts, Saturdays and Sundays when needed.

Education & Experience

Working Conditions

Work inside a clean, refrigerated warehouse manufacturing environment and a climate controlled manufacturing. Required to sit, stand, walk, climb stairs, and lift 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally.

This job posting is meant to give an overview of the available position. This does not cover every detail of expectations of the position. Duties and responsibilities may be added or modified at any time. Normal operations are Monday thru Friday, with a Monday night start for our third shift. Saturday work may be required depending on production and staffing needs. Saturdays are usually six hour shifts. All work performed in excess of 8 hours in any work day or 40 hours straight time in any work week shall be compensated at the rate of time and one half your straight time rate.
