  • Unpack shipments, reject damaged items, and coordinate with shippers.
  • Route items to appropriate departments and ensure outbound shipments meet specs.
  • Maintain inventory of shipping materials and operate warehouse equipment.
  • Provide coverage at front/back parts counter as needed.

Salary Range: $19.00 - $19.00 Hourly

SUMMARY

Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment. Assists with parts inventory stocking and organization.

PAY

Pay for this role will be $19 per hour plus commissions ($600-$900 per month depending on sales)

SCHEDULE

Fulltime, Tuesday-Saturday

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Determines method of shipment.
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
  • Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
  • Inserts items into containers.
  • Tracks warranty parts by tagging with repair order number, date of replacement, and date on which part may be disposed of.
  • Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
  • Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
  • Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Routes items to appropriate departments/personnel.
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
  • Operates equipment to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving area to storage or work area.
  • Disposes materials in recycle and trash bins as directed
  • Completes health, safety, and compliance training as directed by management
  • Performs tasks in accordance with health, safety, and compliance regulations and procedures
  • Maintains a safe, secure, and organized working environment
  • Completes manufacturer training as directed by management
  • Deliver parts to Technicians in the shop
  • If certified, operate forklift in a careful and responsible manner.
  • Provide coverage to front & back parts counter when needed
Qualifications

The Parts Shipping and Receiving Clerk must perform daily activities and instructions in an efficient, detailed, diligent, organized, and safe manner. Education and/or Experience
  • No prior experience or training required. 1+ year of working at an auto dealership or in a similar role in a different industry is preferred.
Technological Aptitude
  • General computer, email, and word processing skills
  • Ability to become quickly proficient in using the appropriate functions in several software and web-based systems, such as the Dealership’s Management System, the Manufacturer’s online parts portals, and any required shipping websites.
  • Ability to become quickly proficient in using the basic features of the dealership’s telephone system (i.e. answering calls, transferring calls, putting calls on hold, etc.)
Language & Communication Skills
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to communicate courteously, professionally, and effectively over the telephone.
  • Ability to greet customers when needed, and direct their inquiries to the appropriate person

Mathematical Skills
