Job summary

Responsibilities

  • Receiving and inventory management: receive, check, and validate incoming materials; enter receipts into computer; print receiving tickets; identify received materials and deliver for storage/use; reconcile pallets; weigh outgoing product; load outgoing materials; put stock in designated locations; maintain a clean organized warehouse, dock, and shipping office; scrap handling; participate in physical inventory and cycle counts; report inventory discrepancies.
  • Shipping and order fulfillment: pull, package, and ship parts orders; track packages; apply shipping charges; issue return authorizations; ensure timely shipment; read and interpret instructions to prepare products/materials for shipment; operate site computerized system; comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements.
  • Data entry and general warehouse operations: operate site computerized system and perform required data entry; maintain documentation and reporting as needed.

Summary

The Shipping and Receiving Clerk at Pacific Seafood is a key role on our Warehouse team supporting efforts of operational efficiency, reducing downtime, and minimizing errors in inventory management and order fulfillment processes. This position involves receiving, checking, and validating incoming materials, and is ideal for someone who is organized, can prioritize tasks efficiently, and is adaptable.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Receiving and Inventory Management:
    • Receive, check, and validate the accuracy of incoming materials
    • Enter receipts into computer
    • Print receiving tickets
    • Identify received materials and deliver for storage/use
    • Reconcile pallets
    • Weigh outgoing product
    • Load outgoing materials
    • Put stock in designated locations, as needed
    • Maintain a clean organized warehouse, dock, and shipping office
    • Scrap handling including preparation for pick-up
    • Participate in physical inventory and cycle counts
    • Report inventory discrepancies
  2. Shipping and Order Fulfillment:
    • Pull, package, and ship parts orders according to established procedures
    • Track packages as requested
    • Apply shipping charges to customer orders for invoicing
    • Issue return authorizations
    • Consistently achieve shipment of products without delays or returns
    • Read and interpret instructions to retrieve, assemble, and prepare products/materials for shipment
    • Operate site computerized system and perform required data entry
    • Comply with health, safety, and environmental requirements/procedures at all times

Additional responsibilities may be assigned as deemed necessary to support the overall goals and objectives of the position.

Education and Experience
  • Required
    • High school diploma or GED
    • Two years related experience and/or training
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience
