Job summary

Smyth-Minneapolis is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Associate in Minneapolis, MN for a full-time clerical role. You will manage shipping/receiving tasks, ensure counts and documentation are accurate, and help maintain a clean, organized warehouse.

The position requires a high school diploma, ability to lift heavy items, and English literacy. Benefits include medical/dental/vision, PTO, holidays, disability and life insurance; shifts are Mon-Fri, 8am-4pm, with compensation $21.00-$23.00 hourly.

Qualifications

• High School degree or equivalent
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds
• Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English
• Forklift certification preferred or willing to become certified
• Experience with shipping/receiving operations preferred
• Experience with printing or lean manufacturing is a plus

Responsibilities

• Oversight of shipping and receiving activities, ensuring accuracy of counts and documentation, resolving discrepancies
• Routing of documentation to Accounts Payable
• Maintaining overall accuracy, control, and organization of the warehouse
• Assisting with loading/unloading trucks and putting away product in the correct stock location
• Identifying, recommending, and implementing areas for Lean improvement/modification

Salary Range: $21.00 To $23.00 Hourly

Shifts Available: Monday-Friday, 8am-4pm

Key Responsibilities for Shipping Associate include:

• Routing of documentation to proper recordkeeping unit, i.e., Accounts Payable
• Maintaining overall accuracy, control, and organization of the warehouse
• Assisting with loading/unloading trucks and putting away product in the correct stock location
• Identifying, recommending, and implementing areas for Lean improvement/modification

Education, Skills, and Experience:

• Required: High School degree or equivalent
• Required: Must be able to perform heavy work, lifting up to 50 pounds, frequently pushing and pulling heavy items, often lifting/carrying objects weighing up to 25 pounds
• Required: Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in the English language
• Preferred:Experience operating warehouse equipment such as a forklift and electric pallet jack; must be willing to become certified for forklift use
• Preferred: Experience with shipping/receiving operations
• A Plus: Experience with Printing
