Job summary

BJ’s Wholesale Club is seeking a Reach Truck Operator in Elkton, MD. You will replenish empty bin locations and put away inbound stock to ensure items are stocked and ready for picking.

The role requires reach truck experience, safety PPE, and the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. We offer weekly pay, benefits, a 401(k) plan, and stock purchase options.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• College coursework, continuing technical education or comparable business experience is a plus.
• Warehouse experience preferred.
• Reach truck experience required.
• Must be able to pass operational fork truck test with 80% or better.
• Handle and prioritize requests from multiple sources.
• Basic math skills to ensure proper height and counts per pallet and identify or verify pallet ID numbers.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work at elevated heights while wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job.
• Ability to take directions using the headset selection system (VoCollect).
• Ability to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the member to include nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Wrap pallets to ensure stability, check pallet conditions, and stack safely for transport to storage
• Promptly report damage and all inventory discrepancies

• Replenish empty pick bins

Job Summary:

As a Reach Truck Operator, you will be responsible for continuously replenishing empty bin locations with available stock. You will also be responsible to put away all inbound received product in the proper bin locations to ensure product is stocked and ready to be picked.

Environmental Job Conditions:

Independently lift up to 50 lbs. frequently and 100 lbs. occasionally. Sit, stand, walk bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environment. Grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basis. Work safely up to 36 feet in the air in the rack system to fix dumped pallets on an occasional basis. Build pallets up to 6 feet tall with case weights up to 50 pounds. Endurance for continuous, fast paced work. Fluctuating temperatures within the perishable DC including freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit. Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc). Products may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.). Utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, etc).

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. At BJ’s Wholesale Club, we carefully consider a wide range of non-discriminatory factors when determining salary. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $25.75 - $30.90
