Job summary

The Royal Group Seymour, a subsidiary of Schwarz Partners, seeks a PIT Operator in Seymour, IN to safely operate and care for the PITs, keep stock neat, and help with loading and unloading. Strong teamwork and a can-do attitude are essential as responsibilities include maintaining, inspecting, and documenting equipment and processes.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, a current PIT license, and 2–4 years in a similar setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Preferred corrugated industry or 2–4 years of related work experience.
• Must maintain a current Forklift/PIT Operator License.
• Ability to read instructions and perform basic measurements.

Responsibilities

• Operate and care for the PIT in a safe manner; must be qualified to operate.
• Maintain neat, orderly and safe stacks of stock in storage areas and when loading trailers.
• Assist other PIT operators as necessary.
• Complete necessary paperwork accurately and timely.
• Turn in maintenance work orders for repairs; proactively maintain equipment.
• Stretch wrap units, palletize, and use corner protectors as required.
• Unload trailers while checking product quality and quantity.
• Maintain regular attendance with overtime as needed.
• Keep warehouse organized and participate in inventories.

The Royal Group Seymour, a subsidiary of Schwarz Partners, currently has an exciting opportunity available for a PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) Operator in Seymour, IN. As a PIT Operator you will be responsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the PIT’s including operation, cleanup and recommendation of improvements.

TRG requires the following skills and abilities:

• High school diploma or GED
• Preferred that employees have prior work experience in the corrugated industry or other 2-4 years’ work experience
• Required to maintain a current Forklift/PIT Operator License
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide all units of measure
• Ability to use and read a tape measure
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to multitask

As a PIT Operator you will:

• Operate and care for the PIT in a safe manner; must be qualified to operate
• Maintain neat, orderly and safe stacks of stock in storage areas and when loading trailers
• Assist other PIT operators as necessary
• Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
• Turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs; be proactive in the maintenance of equipment
• Stretch wrap units, palletize and use corner protectors as required
• Unload trailers as needed while checking product’s quality and quantity
• Regular and predictable attendance with overtime allowance as job requires
• Keep warehouse organized and clean
• Make regular cycle counts on stock and actively participate in all inventories
• Additional duties as assigned
