Job summary

Gibraltar Industries in Hastings, MI is seeking a Shipping Helper to assist with loading, storage and distribution of products. The role involves verifying quantities, labeling, and addressing items for shipment; no supervisory responsibilities.

Essential duties include locating products, staging, palletization, loading trucks, and completing paperwork while maintaining safety, organization, and 6S standards. Forklift license may be requested. Evening and day shifts available with a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• Less than high school education; or one month to three months of related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to add, subtract and count in simple units of measurement; read basic English; interpret safety rules and procedures.
• May be asked to have a Forklift License to facilitate loading.

Responsibilities

• Locate products based on customer bill of order and location codes.
• Retrieve products in timely and accurate manner.
• Stage and organize products in staging area.
• Build pallets to size with power tools (nail gun, saw, banders).
• Load, pack and organize products on trucks according to shipping logistics.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately.
• Maintain regular attendance at QAP facility.
• Observe safety and security procedures; report unsafe conditions.
• Maintain high level of organization and cleanliness using 6s standards.
