Job summary

Colonial Chemical is seeking a Shipping Operator to join our warehouse team. This hourly, non-exempt role runs 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM ET, Monday through Friday, with possible overtime, reporting to the Shipping Manager.

You will pull inventory for outbound shipments, palletize and wrap pallets, apply labels, verify and record loaded items, and maintain a clean, safe work area. Required is a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year in manufacturing or a chemical plant.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of manufacturing or chemical plant experience preferred.
• Must demonstrate ability to safely operate a forklift.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Pulls material from inventory to prepare for outgoing shipment.

• Apply/remove product labels as needed.

Shipping Operator

Position Type: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Hours: 9:00AM to 5:30PM Eastern Time Monday through Friday, with possible overtime necessary.

Reports to: Shipping Manager

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Pulls material from inventory to prepare for outgoing shipment.
• Palletizes and wraps outgoing shipments.
• Apply/remove product labels as needed.
• Verifies and records all items loaded for shipments.
• Carefully and accurately maintains shipping records.
• Notifies supervisor of major discrepancies, over-shipments, or substitutions.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work area.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Ability to work independently in a warehouse environment to pull correct inventory to ship.
• Basic understanding of railway, dock, and warehouse procedures.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of manufacturing or chemical plant experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to traverse distribution warehouse and access a variety of storage spaces and shelving units by stretching, squatting, and reaching.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures in the warehouse and on the loading dock.
