Position Summary

The Warehouse Shipping Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently loading box trailers and flatbed customer trucks while ensuring all shipping documentation is accurately completed in accordance with company procedures and customer requirements. This role supports timely and accurate product shipments while maintaining a clean, organized, and showcase-quality facility at all times.

The employee is also responsible for maintaining compliance with Huber’s Sustainability Management System (SMS) within their area of responsibility. Duties may include adherence to applicable environmental and regulatory requirements, including air permits, wastewater permits, stormwater permits, and other compliance obligations as communicated and required for the position.

Must be available work over time when needed.

Position will be second shift.

  • Safely load customer box trailers and flatbed trucks in accordance with company procedures, customer specifications, and cargo securement requirements.
  • Follow all established safety procedures during loading and shipping activities.
  • Operate forklifts and safely climb on and off equipment throughout the shift.
  • Load pallets according to required loading patterns and shipment specifications.
  • Read, understand, and follow all work order instructions and shipping documentation requirements.
  • Verify correct material is loaded by cross-referencing inventory details, labels, lot codes, and work order instructions.
  • Accurately update inventory records to reflect material movement and shipment activity.
  • Complete shipping orders and bills of lading using scanners or virtual terminal systems, ensuring all documentation is accurate prior to shipment completion.
  • Operate the scale house and perform associated duties including:
    • Signing truck drivers in and out
    • Recording truck loading information and times
    • Maintaining spreadsheets and shipping logs
    • Scanning shipping documentation to shared electronic filing systems
  • Assist Logistics, Customer Service, and Quality teams with proper processing and distribution of order fulfillment documentation, including bills of lading and certificates of analysis.
  • Inspect, assess, and document returned goods and complete all required paperwork.
  • Maintain warehouse and shipping areas in clean, organized, and showcase-ready condition through routine housekeeping activities such as sweeping, restacking pallets, and removing trash and slip sheets.
  • Perform and document pre-shift equipment inspections.
  • Conduct workplace area examinations each shift to identify and address safety concerns.
  • Operate mobile equipment including forklifts, bobcats, mobile sweepers, and water trucks as needed.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain flexibility as operational priorities change.
  • Maintain work areas in a safe and orderly condition at all times.
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence programs.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as trained and assigned.
Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills
  • High School Diploma or GED required; technical school or vocational training preferred.
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of manufacturing, warehouse, or plant experience preferred.
  • Basic computer skills required, including the ability to access email, complete online training courses, and utilize electronic operating systems.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working safely and following all company safety procedures.
  • Ability to recognize, react to, and respond appropriately to safety-related situations.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations including addition, multiplication, and percentages, with or without the use of a calculator.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization, including the use of two-way radios.
  • Ability to understand, read, write, and speak the English language proficiently.
  • Ability to read and comprehend safety manuals, standard operating procedures (SOPs), safety data sheets (SDS), production schedules, and operational reports.
Physical Requirements
  • Works in both indoor warehouse and outdoor environments.
  • Regularly exposed to inclement weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, rain, humidity, mud, dust/dirt, noise, and vibration for up to 12 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to perform physical activities including lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, kneeling, squatting, and twisting throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to safely mount and dismount mobile equipment such as forklifts and mobile sweepers.
  • Required to wear all assigned personal protective equipment (PPE) for the duration of the shift, including hard hat, steel-toed footwear, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and safety harness/lanyard as required.
  • Must be able to safely operate equipment at appropriate speeds based on conditions while maintaining productivity and operational efficiency.
  • Must be able to climb silos and perform bulk truck loading operations when required.
