Job Description

The Shipping Material Handler plays a key role in ensuring the efficient and accurate shipping of finished products within a fast-paced industrial manufacturing environment. This hands-on position requires comprehensive knowledge of materials and a strong understanding of the manufacturing workflow. You will prepare, package, and load completed products for shipment while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the efficient and accurate shipping of finished products from the manufacturing facility.
  • Handle materials throughout the production and shipping areas, ensuring proper identification, staging, and movement.
  • Operate forklifts and other material handling equipment safely to move, load, and unload products.
  • Prepare and package completed products according to established procedures and quality standards.
  • Load outgoing shipments onto trucks or other transport vehicles in a safe and organized manner.
  • Perform order picking and packing to fulfill shipping requirements and customer orders.
  • Support shipping and receiving activities, including verifying quantities and condition of incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of materials and finished goods through proper documentation and tracking.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge of materials and the manufacturing workflow to coordinate product movement and shipping schedules.
  • Meet critical deadlines and schedules by prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
  • Use Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe to track shipments, update records, and communicate shipping information.
Essential Skills
  • At least 2+ years of experience operating a forklift in a warehouse, construction, or manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience in construction, warehouse, or manufacturing settings.
  • Previous shipping and/or receiving experience is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 70 pounds throughout the workday.
  • Full range of mobility in upper and lower body, including the ability to reach overhead.
  • Comfort working in an industrial manufacturing environment with shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors.
  • Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Fluency in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe for basic office and documentation tasks.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience as a receiver or in shipping and receiving operations.
  • Experience with order picking and packing processes.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in inventory and shipping documentation.
  • Strong communication skills to coordinate with production, logistics, and other internal teams.
Work Environment

This role is based in an industrial manufacturing environment that includes both indoor shop areas and outdoor work in the elements. You will be exposed to typical shop conditions such as noise, dust, fumes, and odors, and will work around forklifts and other material handling equipment. The environment is fast-paced, hands-on, and production-focused, requiring consistent adherence to safety practices and physical readiness for lifting, moving materials, and operating equipment throughout the shift.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Everett, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
