Job summary

Peco-Foods in West Point, MS, is seeking a PIT Operator II- Shipping to safely operate stand-up counter balance forklifts and stand-up deep reach forklifts in our warehouse. You will perform receiving, put-away, picking and shipping tasks in accordance with SOPs and USDA requirements.

This role requires standing most of the day, lifting up to 40 pounds, and frequent bending or climbing. Flexibility for weekend and night shifts in a cold storage environment and clear written and verbal

Qualifications

• Ability to count and perform basic math.
• Ability to work in frozen temperatures with PPE.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory records.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule and shift, including weekends and nights.
• Ability use scanning devices for shipping, receiving and inventory functions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Job Summary:This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating stand-up counter balance forklifts and stand-up deep reach forklifts while performing all functions associated with the warehouse.

Essential Job Functions/Duties:

• Abide by all safety protocols to assure a safe workplace
• Perform all functions related to receiving and putting away inbound freight by properly following established SOPs
• Perform all functions related to picking and shipping outbound freight by properly following established SOPs
• Maintain the warehouse and equipment in a manner that abides by all USDA requirements
• Maintain an accurate warehouse inventory by following all established SOPs
• Perform necessary inventory functions when required

Physical/Mental Requirements

• Must be able to stand/walk 100% of the work day.
• Gripping and repetitive use of hands.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, and climb steps.
• Must be comfortable working in organic conditions.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 40 pounds repetitively
• Ability to work at heights when necessary

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years operating stand-up counter balance forklifts and stand-up deep reach forklifts in a cold storage or large-scale distribution center.
