Job summary

Mayville Engineering Company, Inc. is seeking a shipping clerk to select, prepare, and pack parts for shipment, handling related paperwork and ensuring accurate records. The role requires following shipping procedures and using shipping software to determine methods and routes.

Responsibilities include processing reports, auditing shipments, and supporting inventory accuracy through cycle counting, with additional duties as assigned. This position is on-site at our Michigan facility.

Responsibilities

• Select, prepare, and pack parts for shipment and handle related paperwork.
• Determine shipment method using shipping software and routing knowledge.
• Process shipping reports: work orders, packing lists, bills of lading, tickets.
• Audit shipments before loading and ensure transactions are entered in the system.
• Assist in inventory accuracy through cycle counting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Selects, prepares, and packs parts for shipment utilizing the appropriate shipping method. Handles all related paperwork or documents, recording or verifying pertinent information for shipping.
• Determines method of shipment, utilizing required shipping software, and knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
• Processes reports related to shipping including work orders, packing lists, pick lists, bills of lading, customer pick tickets, and related information.
• Audits shipments prior to loading the truck verifying the load against the customer order. Ensures that all transactions have been entered in the system.
• Assists in ensuring inventory accuracy by investigating and correcting variances through cycle counting.
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Experience

• *1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training preferred.
• *Forklift Certification, or willingness to become certified, a plus.
