Job summary

Empower Pharmacy is hiring a Pharmacy Technician, Shipping, to drive accurate, compliant, and timely medication distribution across our fast-growing 503A/503B operations. You will own end-to-end shipment preparation, verification, and dispatch, ensuring chain of custody and documentation while leveraging AI to boost throughput and accuracy.

The role requires 1–2 years in pharmacy operations, familiarity with pharmacy systems, and a keen eye for detail.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of experience in pharmacy operations or a regulated production environment.
  • Experience with pharmacy systems, shipping platforms, or inventory management tools.
  • Familiarity with 503A/503B environments, GMP practices, or healthcare operations is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume environments with strong accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Order Preparation: Prepares and stages prescriptions for shipment using standardized workflows and AI-enabled verification tools.
  • Package Assembly: Assembles shipping containers with AI-supported checklists to reduce errors and ensure compliance.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Pharmacy Technician, Shipping drivesaccurate, compliant, andtimelymedication distribution, directlyimpactingpatient access, fulfillment speed, and regulatory performance acrossEmpower’shyper growth 503A/503B operations. This role ownsend to endshipment preparation, verification, and dispatch integrity, ensuring chain of custody, documentation, and quality at scale. Leveraging AI as a force multiplier, the technician accelerates throughput, enhances accuracy, and supports real time decision making. The role applies strategic thinking,executionrigor, and learning agility within a highly regulated environment. RESPONSIBILITIES
Shipping Operations
  • Order Preparation: Prepares and stages prescriptions for shipment using standardized workflows and AI-enabled verification tools to ensure accuracy, completeness, and readiness.Maintains high throughput while safeguarding product integrity, supporting scalable operations, and aligning shipment execution with regulatory, quality, and patient delivery expectations in a fast-paced environment.
  • Package Assembly: Assembles shipping containers, inserts medications, documentation, and temperature controls using AI-supported checklists to reduce errors and variability. Ensures packaging meets compliance standards, preserves product stability, and supports consistent quality outcomes whileoptimizingefficiency and minimizing rework across high-volume fulfillment operations.
  • Dispatch Execution: Executes shipment release and handoff processes with precision,leveragingAI insights to prioritize orders and meet service levels. Ensuresaccuratelabeling, carrier coordination,and documentation whilemaintainingchain of custody, enablingtimelydelivery and supporting operational scale in a regulated distribution environment.
QualityandCompliance
  • Regulatory Adherence: Follows 503A and 503B shipping regulations, internal SOPs, and documentation standards, using AI-assisted validation to ensure compliance. Maintains audit-ready records, minimizes risk, and consistently upholdsEmpower’scommitment to patient safety, product quality, and regulatory excellence in every shipment processed.
  • Error Prevention: Identifiespotential discrepancies in shipping documentation, labeling, or product handling through structured checks and AI-driven alerts.Takesproactive corrective actions to prevent errors, reduce waste, and strengthen reliability,ensuringconsistent adherence to quality standards and continuous improvement across shipping workflows.
  • Audit Support: Maintainsdetailed,accurateshipment records and traceability documentation,leveragingdigital tools to support audits and inspections.Ensuresall processes are verifiable, repeatable, and compliant, contributing to sustained operational readiness and reinforcing a culture of accountability and excellence.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in pharmacy operations, shipping, fulfillment, or a regulated production environment.
  • Experience working with pharmacy systems, shipping platforms, or inventory management tools preferred.
  • Familiarity with 503A/503B environments, GMP practices, or healthcare operations is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in fast-paced, high-volume environments with strong accuracy and attention to detail.
