Job summary

Orion Steel Group, L.L.C. in Pueblo, Colorado is seeking a Shipping Clerk to coordinate shipments, weigh trucks and issue loading papers. You will verify materials, run clerical tasks, and support the Shipping team under the Traffic Supervisor and Sr.

Traffic Assistant. Responsibilities include data entry, report generation across multiple software systems, handling inquiries, maintaining filing systems, and keeping work areas tidy.

Qualifications

  • 12 months of clerical experience.
  • Ability to send and receive emails.
  • Must be able to work in inside and outside environmental conditions.
  • Exposed to extreme cold and heat; may require respirator.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine clerical duties.
  • Accumulates and verifies data for reports across multiple software systems.
  • Process inquiries and review files and records.
  • Distribute documents and correspondence.
  • Maintain filing systems.
  • Generate documentation and data entry.

This individual will be responsible for arranging shipments of materials with carriers, weighing trucks, issuing loading papers, verifying correct materials and providing general and specific clerical support to Shipping. The Shipping Clerk reports to the Traffic Supervisor, Sr. Traffic Assistant and Foreman Seamless Shipping.Perform routine clerical dutiesAccumulates and verifies data used for generation and distribution of various reports using multiple software systemsProcess inquiries, incoming work requests, reviewing files and recordsDistribute documents and correspondenceMaintain filing systemsGenerate documentation and data entryKeep work area and equipment clean and orderlyAssist other personnel as requiredPerform other duties as assignedRequirements12 months of clerical experienceAbility to send and receive emailsAccurately type 35 wpmAccurately key Numeric Data Entry & Alpha Numeric Data Entry at 5000 kphProficient in Microsoft Word and ExcelExperience with PowerPointQualified candidates will be asked to demonstrate proficiency through testing. Tests to include: Microsoft Word 2003, Microsoft Excel 2003, General Typing, Data Entry – Numeric, and Data Entry – Alpha Numeric.Must be able to work in both inside and outside environmental conditions. Subject to both inside and outside environmental conditions. Exposed to extreme cold and heat.
