Job summary

Fox Factory in El Cajon, CA is seeking a Shipping/Receiving Assistant to support the shipping department with clerical duties and order processing. You will designate shipment methods, verify documentation, label and package items, and assist with inventory of shipping materials. Reading and writing in English is required.

No previous experience required, but 1+ year in shipping/receiving is preferred. The role involves physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs and may require operating a lift

Position Summary:

Assists shipping department, performing clerical duties involved in the shipping of materials.

Position Responsibilities:

• Designates method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shippingprocedures, routes, and rates.
• Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, orother records.
• Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment.
• Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects pre-assembled containers.
• Inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding.
• Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metaltape, using strapping machine.
• Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers.
• Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage.
• Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper torectify damages and shortages.
• Routes items to departments.
• Examines outgoing shipments to ensureshipments meet specifications.
• Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• May keep records on outgoing shipmentsand prepare items for shipment.
• May operate tier-lift truck or use hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
• May direct others in preparing outgoing and receiving incoming shipments.

Specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

Experience:

Compensation Range

$17.56 - $23.56

The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Fox reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.
